Advanced Dental Technology Grand Prairie
We Stay on the Leading Edge of Dentistry
Comfort, convenience, and the best treatment results are all enhanced by employing the latest dental technology. That’s why our office is equipped with a digital impression system, cone beam CT scanner, soft tissue laser, and intraoral camera. At each of your appointments, whether you’re coming in for an examination or a dental implant consultation, these instruments will make your experience more streamlined, precise, and comfortable. We invite you to learn a little more about the technology we use in our office by reading below.
Digital Impressions
Putty is no longer necessary to take impressions of the mouth when designing veneers, crowns, dentures, and more. Instead, our team is able to capture a detailed, photorealistic digital impression that can be immediately sent to partnering laboratories, leading to faster turnaround times for restorations and oral appliances. Digital impressions are also much more comfortable for patients, as they’re taken with a small camera that can scan the mouth in a matter of minutes.
Soft Tissue Laser
Instead of a typical scalpel and sutures, we’re able to utilize a soft tissue laser during certain surgical and routine procedures, including gum disease treatment and crown lengthening. The laser is a very thin beam of light that can effortlessly remove damaged, overgrown, or severely infected soft tissue, leaving only healthy gums behind. It also cauterizes the area to minimize bleeding and discomfort during and after your procedure.
CT/Cone Beam Scanner
When more detailed diagnostic images are needed to plan complex treatments like dental implant placement, we use our cone beam CT scanner. By piecing together thousands of images taken of your facial structure in mere moments, this instrument can provide our dentists in Grand Prairie with a detailed view of your anatomy. It will show us all of your teeth, location of your sinuses, density of your jawbone, and even where your facial nerves are, helping us make even more detailed treatment plans.
Intraoral Camera
During your routine checkups, we may use our intraoral camera to take a closer look at a hard-to-see area of your mouth. This device is a camera-tipped wand that can take still images as well as project live video footage on a chairside monitor for you to see. With the images and video footage, we’re able to better educate our patients about issues they may face as well as track and keep an eye on early signs of dental concerns so we can address them quickly.
TVs On the Ceilings
Every treatment chair is equipped with an overhead TV to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during their visit. If you’d like to watch your favorite show so your appointment flies by, we’ve got you covered. These screens also serve an educational purpose, allowing us to display detailed scans and X-rays so you can see your smile from our team’s perspective and better understand your oral health and treatment options.
