Tooth Extractions

Although our team would always prefer to maintain your natural smile whenever the situation allows for it, there are certain cases in which we may recommend extracting a tooth. If the tooth needs to be replaced, we can plan a procedure to coincide with your extraction, allowing you to seamlessly transition to having a full and functional smile again.

Wisdom Tooth Extractions

Wisdom teeth, also referred to as the third molars, are the last teeth that erupt through the gumline in the back of the mouth. In many cases, there’s not enough room to accommodate these teeth, and they need to be extracted. This is because they’re at risk of infection, cyst formation, or they increase your chances of developing dental health issues like gum disease. In these cases, our team can provide you or your teen with wisdom tooth extraction to protect your oral health.

Ridge Augmentation

When a tooth has been missing for some time and jawbone deterioration has occurred as a result, ridge augmentation may be recommended to restore the lost bone structure. Ridge augmentation involves placing a bone graft to help make a certain area of the jaw denser, eventually allowing for successful integration with a dental implant post.

Ridge/Socket Preservation

After a tooth is extracted, we can place a bone graft in the empty socket to preserve the area and prevent bone loss. The bone loss results when the roots of the missing tooth are no longer present, causing a lack of blood flow and stimulation to that area of the jawbone, which will result in its erosion. Stopping this will make replacing the tooth easier in the future and also lower a patient’s risk for tooth loss and gum issues.

Sinus Lifts

If you need to replace a missing tooth with a dental implant on the top arch of your mouth toward the back, you may require a sinus lift beforehand. This process involves lifting the sinus membrane to make room for bone grafting material, strengthening the area while preventing complications from arising after dental implant surgery.
